PRSI Jammu Chapter welcomes new members, discusses plans for future events

Ashutosh Bhatnagar enlightens the members with unique perspectives into J&K

The Jammu Chapter of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) convened a dynamic meeting today at Press Club Jammu marked by the welcoming of new members and discussions on the organization’s future endeavors.

The meeting also featured a brief yet valuable interaction with Mr. Ashutosh Bhatnagar, eminent journalist and Director of Jammu Kashmir Study Circle, who shared insights into journalism and diverse aspects related to the history, geography, and culture of Jammu Kashmir Ladakh region. His expertise added a unique perspective to the meeting’s discussions.

“Read different historical documents and books to understand the intricacies and significance of J&K,” Bhatnagar encouraged the students.

During the meeting, the members delved into an array of key topics that will shape the future of public relations in the region. One significant point of discussion was the participation of PRSI Jammu in the upcoming ‘International Public Relations Festival 2023′, which is in conjunction with the ’45th Public Relations Conference’, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from November 25th to 27th, being organised by the Public Relations Society of India.

Prof. Anil Saumitra, Chairperson, PRSI J&K Chapter, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu, highlighted, “With the objective of establishing a strong presence and providing our members with invaluable exposure, a team comprising executive members and student members will represent PRSI Jammu at the event.”

Another topic on the agenda was the discussion on organising ‘Media Chaupal’ in Jammu. Building on the success of the previous editions held across the nation, this event would bring together students, professionals and academicians from the different fields of media. It would also feature an Academic Chaupal where research papers will be presented, facilitating intellectual discourse. University of Jammu, Central University of Jammu, Press Club Jammu, and Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu would be collaborating for this event.

The meeting concluded on an enthusiastic note, with members eagerly looking forward to upcoming events and engagements.
