SANJY 2023: Dr Singla reviews arrangments, applauds Yatra Mitra

To ensure the convenient conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023, Dr Piyush Singla, IAS, Secretary Revenue J&K, Nodal Officer for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra via Pahalgam Axis, conducted a productive virtual meeting with government officials stationed at the Panchtarni campsite and other esteemed yatra stakeholders.

During the meeting, Thakur Sher Singh, JKAS, Camp Director, Panchtarni, briefed about the current arrangements put in place to cater to the needs of the pilgrims, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the Yatra.

Dr Singla expressed satisfaction with the conduct of yatra so far and appreciated the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, highlighting their unwavering commitment to ensure safety and comfort of the pilgrims.

A special note of appreciation was extended to the dedicated ‘Yatra Mitra’ team for their relentless support and assistance in facilitating the smooth and clean pilgrimage journey for the devotees, and contributing significantly to this year’s Yatra’s overall success.

Pertinently, ‘Yatra Mitra’ is an initiative of Camp Director Panchtarni and was launched during SANJY 2022, for providing a round the clock helping hand in shifting of patients from Camp site to the Base Hospital, evacuation of patients from Base Hospital to Helipad for shifting to other hospital through helicopter, guidance to the yatris to their desired destinations, and promotion of cleanliness.

Dr Singla said, “As the Amarnath Yatra progresses, we remain committed to closely monitoring the arrangements and addressing any challenges that may arise promptly. The collective determination of the authorities and stakeholders involved underscores their dedication to make this year’s Amarnath Yatra a resounding success.” He added that Sh. Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor, J&K, and the Shrine Board are meticulously overseeing all the arrangements.

Syed Fakhruddin Hamid, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, assured wholehearted support from the district administration to facilitate the Yatra and maintain a harmonious environment for all pilgrims. He said to ensure a fulfilling and comfortable pilgrimage, continuous monitoring of Yatra related activities including security, travel and sanitation is being undertaken.

Others who attended the meeting were Additional Camp Directors, Nodal Officer Sanitation, Incharge Base Hospital, Panchtarni, Commandant Parminder Singh, ITBP, Asst Commandant Naveen, BSF, SP Munish Kumar, and other officials from the Security Forces. Abdul Hamid Magrey, Shastri, Mumtaz and other Union Presidents of Dandiwalas, Pitthoowalas, and Ponywalas also participated.

The meeting concluded with renewed assurances from all parties involved to continue their cooperative endeavors, ensuring a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for every pilgrim.
