Second round of dry run of COVID19 vaccination announced

Having conducted the first round of dry run of COVID19 vaccination in Srinagar, Jammu and Kulgam districts on 2nd January, the UT government is set to cover the remaining seventeen districts on 5th and 6th January in the second round.

According to the schedule notified by Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization, Government of J&K, Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda and Reasi districts of Jammu division, and Shopian, Anantnag, and Ganderbal districts of Kashmir division will be covered on 5th January.

The next day, that is, 6th January, the dry run will be conducted in Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu division, and also in Kupwara, Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama, and Bandipora districts of Kashmir division.

Twenty one identified sites across the former seven districts will be covered on 5th January, while thirty identified sites of remaining ten districts will be covered on 6th January.

Notably, in vaccine dry run, the entire process of transporting the vaccines from storage to the site, administering them to candidates, feeding data on Co-WIN app is practised without any real vaccine. The beneficiaries undergo the dummy procedure, the main aim of which is to identify if there is any loophole in the planned process, so that once a vaccine shot is approved for emergency use, administering vaccine goes on without a glitch anywhere.

In Kishtwar, the sites identified for the dry run of vaccination are District Hospital, Community Health Center Paddar, and Community Health Center Chatroo. DH Kishtwar vaccination session will be held under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, CHC Paddar vaccination session under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and CHC Chatroo vaccination session under the supervision of DIO.

On the same day in Ramban, the dry run of vaccination will be held at District Hospital under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Community Health Center Gool under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Sub District Hospital Banihal under the supervision of DIO.

District Hospital, Community Health Center Bhaderwah, and Community Health Center Gandoh have been selected for dry run of vaccination in Doda. Chief Medical Officer will supervise the DH Doda vaccination session, Deputy Chief Medical Officer will supervise the CHC Bhaderwah session, and DIO and will supervise the CHC Gandoh session.

In Reasi, vaccine will be administered at District Hospital under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Community Health Center Mahore under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Community Health Center Katra under the supervision of DIO.

For 6th January, District Hospital, Community Health Center Ramnagar, and Panchari have been identified in Udhampur for the vaccination. Here, Chief Medical Officer is tasked to monitor DH session, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for CHC Ramnagar, and DIO for Panchari.

In Kathua, the beneficiaries will be administered vaccine at District Hospital under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, at Community Health Center Billawar under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and at Community Health Center Bani under the supervision of DIO.

In Samba, the dry run of vaccination will be held at District Hospital under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Primary Health Center Sumb under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Community Health Center Ramgarh under the supervision of DIO.

In Poonch, District Hospital under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Primary Health Center Mendhar under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Community Health Center Mandi under the supervision of DIO will witness the vaccination dry run.

Beneficiaries at District Hospital Rajouri, Community Health Center Kandi and Community Health Center Kalakote will be administered vaccine under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and DIO respectively.

Similarly, in Kashmir division, the dry run of vaccination will be held at District Hospital Shopian under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Primary Health Center Tukroo under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Primary Health Center Pinjoora under the supervision of DIO on 5th January.

NTPHC Daligam, Sub District Hospital Dooru, and NTPHC Veeri have been selected for the purpose in Anantnag, and Sub District Hospital Ganderbal, Primary Health Center Lar (DHO), and Sub District Hospital Kangan in Ganderbal, under the supervision of the concerned officials.

Kupwara, that is to be covered on 6th January, will witness the vaccination session at Primary Health Center Trehgam under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Primary Health Center Drugmalla under the supervision of Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and Primary Health Center Natnussa under the supervision of DIO.

Sub District Hospital Sopore, UPHC Baramulla, and Sub District Hospital Pattan have made to the list from Baramulla district, while Sub District Hospital Beerwah, Community Health Center Kremshore, and Community Health Center Nagam from Budgam district.

In Pulwama, Primary Health Center Tahab, Community Health Center Rajpora (DHO), and Sub District Hospital Pampore, and Bandipora’s District Hospital, Community Health Center Hajan, and Primary Health Center Nesbal (DMEIO) in have also been identified for dry run of vaccine.

It may be remembered that Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, had inaugurated and monitored the first sessions of administration of Covid-19 vaccination to the beneficiaries at the selected sites on 2nd January.
