CallDoc App joins India’s fight against COVID-19

As Indians are increasingly becoming worried about their health amid the coronavirus outbreak, they can make use of CallDoc app, a digital healthcare platform, which is providing free doctor consultancy to the entire nation during this period of lockdown.

“Healthcare is mankind’s most essential resource and we must together foster it. These are the times of action and the time to make it evident on the world stage that our nation can be the bearer of new age innovations for the efficient blooming of mankind. As such, we have decided to offer free doctor consultancy services to the people through CallDoc and support the nation in its fight against the pandemic,” says Arun Dagar, Founder and CEO, Oncall Medicare Pvt Ltd.

The users can access the app available on both – Google Play Store and Apple Store, to connect to the listed doctors and specialists, ranging from Cardio, Gynae to Ayurvedic and Homeopathic, on Video/Audio/Chat and get the consultation ‘Anytime, Anywhere’.

It needs to be mentioned here that the app is essentially for patients with non-emergency medical issues, as according to Dagar, most of the cases are non-emergency cases and do not require physical hospitalization.

We have seen a rise of almost 200% in usage of our app during the lockdown, he tells.

Also, the doctors belonging to Oncall fraternity and otherwise, willing to be a part of this novel initiative can self-register for free after downloading the app and be visible to consultancy seekers from their home itself.

“Teleconsultancy through CallDoc app will help maintain that people do not rush unnecessarily to overburdened clinics or hospitals, while also help reducing their chances of coming in contact with coronavirus patients. We believe this effort towards strengthening of our health services is for the collective advancement of our society,” remarks Dagar.

Explaining how the app works, he says, “Patients can select the doctor or specialists, upload the reports, and pay the fees digitally. They will get notified that their request for a particular doctor has been accepted. The doctor gets a ten-minute time to finish the work at hand and call back the patients. Patients can then interact in all the three modes – audio, video and chat. They can also switch off any one of these modes during the interaction as convenient. After the consultation is satisfactorily closed, the doctor is given an option to upload the prescription, immediately or later. The call is said closed when the prescription reaches the patient. However, in the times of COVID 19, we have committed to provide these services for free to Support our Nation at this hour of need.”

He adds, “In case, there is a network issue given that the internet speed is not the same everywhere, the provision for a voice call is included in the app.”

Notably, the state governments have begun to partner with Oncall Medicare Pvt Ltd, starting with the Government of Goa, to provide citizens with CallDoc 24×7 online access to Physicians and Specialists at their convenience.

“Through this app, over 300 doctors will ensure your health queries are answered instantly. I feel extremely happy about the launch as it will ease healthcare facilities & provide Goans with appropriate guidance on various ailments without having to physically visit a doctor or wait for an appointment,” Vishwajit Rane, Minister for Health, Government of Goa said while launching the app for the state in partnership with Oncall Medicare Pvt Ltd.
